I'd only been to Southend once before, which is funny considering I've lived an hour away from there every since i was 6. It hadn't even changed, which was so funny to me. All the roads were closed as the Airshow was on, and man that was loud. The planes were flying through the sky making pretty patterns and alot of people had turned up to watch.
So first of all we went to eat, and the food was rank, LOL. Then we hit up the arcades but after a while me and Cat ran away and onto the beach. Although it's not much of a beach. The tide is always right in and its not sand, but pebbles, but that didn't stop me having a little walk through the water, which wasn't actually that cold.
After that we met back up with everyone and went on the train ride on the pier. Southend Pier is 1.3 miles long and is the longest pier in the world. I LOVED it on there. So peaceful and calm. Me and Cat went exploring and at one point the planes started flying over and they were SO loud. We couldn't even hear ourselves when screaming lol. I didn't want to leave the pier but we had to get the train back half an hour later.
We hit up the gift shops afterwards, buying sea side rock and hot doughnuts before going to a seabar. I actually LOVE seafood. Munched on loads of crab sticks. Nom Nom.
After that we headed back home, it had been a long ass day and the walk back to the car felt like years lol.
I definitely need to go there more often. I really want to hit up Clacton Beach again. Clacton and Jaywick have the most beautiful beaches and i miss spending my summer days there.
Anyways here's some pics from today.
