So it’s that time again. That time where I’ve been on an awesome trip and have to write what my girls refer to as my legendary blogs.
Cologne, Germany. Such an amazingly beautiful city. I’d never planned on going to Germany before. Neither of us had I don’t think (Apart from Sarah), and you know what… I’m so glad we did go.
I’d just like to warn those reading, that this blog will be VERY picture heavy. A lot of me and my girls, a few of Nick. Might add some videos too. (I just ask no Nick pictures be taken from this blog.. They are not mine, but my friends. I’ll know if they go missing from here as well, FYI)

Me, Charlotte, Emma, Sarah and Kav all met at Stanstead airport at the lovely our of just after 6am. Now most people know I don’t rise at such early time for just anything. Nope…
But this was a special trip. Not only were we going to Cologne for the first time, but we were seeing our boy Nick! We were very excited, as you can imagine!
The flight went eventful, well apart from me and my severe ear pain. And once we got out the plane we could tell the weather was lush. SO lush by the time we had got the train from the airport to Cologne we were all sweating our balls off!
It took us a long time to get to our hotel, which was only a short walk from the train station. There was a huge protest going on, i can't remember what for now, but all the main roads were shut for the impending crowds. Alot of them actually started turning up after we did. It meant we had to drag our cases a long way around to get to the hotel. On a high note the police men in Germany are HOT! I mean... I'd break the law so one of them could frisk me!... muahaha!!
We eventually found our hotel, which was AMAZING! Is Amazing! Such a beautiful location. Our room was cool too. We literally checked in and headed up into our room before taking a dozen stupid pictures, because thats how we roll.
Now the day before we left Nick had announced he would be recording his new music video at the hotel the next day, which was the day we arrived. It was due to start at 9am, and as our flight didnt land till 10am we knew we would be late. Well it turned out Nick was running on major Backstreet Time and had reshedualed it for 1:30pm. Suited us fine haha! Once we had let ours (ok mine) cases explode we settled on getting ready for the show. We're all girly girls really... so any excuse to dress up is good for us!
I'd been texting my girl Chrissy for a good hour by this point. She was outside with the fans waiting for the shoot to start and she texted me letting us know that Nick would be out soon, so we made our way outside.
Now a lil flash forward to two days later. Nick did a tv interview whilst we were still in Germany and he was talking about the shoot, and how there were 500 fans there. To which we all cracked up and asked what the hell he must of been smoking that day, for you'll see by the pics I'll be posting that there was NO WHERE NEAR 500 fans there. HAHA!
So we headed outside, where it was SCORCHING hot and the sun was out doing us proud. Where the fans had been lining up was packed, so we walked around to the otherside, by the wall and the river and stood there. We took some pictures whilst we were waiting.

Soon enough a car pulled up where we were standing, and before we knew it a huge camera and Nick were walking between the line of fans, shaking hands, hugging, and being attacked.
It was very amusing watching all the fans, who were pretty much going INSANE over Nick. Now I'm all for cheering and what not, but alot of fans were screaming, crying, jumping up and down in excitement. Nick climbed into his car and it drove 200 feet before stopping. As soon as the car stopped all the fans RAN after him. He climbed the steps which lead the the bridge over the river, stopped halfway up and waved before rushing down the steps on the otherside and disapearing. We never followed. It's not our style to go running like fools, plus, we were hungry. Later we found out Nick got back in the car, it drove to the underground car park before he got out and got into the elevator and back to his room.
We were so hungry from travelling that we sat outside and ordered fries and salad and a cheeky glass of wine whilst discussing the rest of the days event's. Nick's show was in the evening, where he was also filming more for his video, and me, Sarah and Kav had VIP to meet Nick.
Once we ate we headed back to our room for an hour. Some of us had disco na na naps, others sorted themselves out for the evening. I napped with Diedre.
Meet and Greet and Show
So here comes the fun, and not so fun part.
Meet and Greet was due to start around 5:45pm. As not all of us had VIP we had decided to get down there a bit earlier so that they could get in the queue, and we would be ready for the M&G.
Now as I'd already mentioned there were protests on that day. They proved to be one hell of a problem that almost cost us our vip.
We had got down to the station, only to find they had shut it due to the amount of people protesting there. We had an itinerary that Kav had spent alot of time sorting out that had everything we needed on it, trains, trams, times, the lot. Only with the protest, and the station being closed as us not knowing the city, we were doomed. We made our way back to the hotel to get some advice, see if we could get a taxi or anything, but as the roads were shut it was a no no. The only thing we could do it head down to the tram station and see if there was any taxi's there, or else get the tram.
By this time we had half an hour before the M&G line were being let in. To say we were stressed was an understatement. It didn't help that it was hitting 100 outside and we were rushing about like lunatics. We made it to the tram stop only to find the enxt tram wasn't due for another 20 minutes. it was supposed to take ten minutes, then another ten to walk there. By then we were all panicking so bad, we knew if we'd miss the M&G we'd be screwed.
So we're stood there, wondering just what to do when Kav spots a taxi. And then Kav did what she never does, LOL. She RAN! Sarah ran after her and i just remember standing there for like 10 seconds thinking... "what are they doing?" And then it hit me and i was running. We'd managed to catch the taxi, and actually arrived at the arena as the last few people were entering the building for M&G.
It was surreal standing at the back of the queue, because we honestly never thought we'd make it. Even after we got our funky Nick lanyard and our names were crossed off the list.
Thats why looking at these pictures makes me laugh. I may look happy, but inside i wanted to throw up from the stress/heat/near miss of getting there.
Now those of you who follow Nick on twitter know ALL about the chimp and frog video Nick's been tweeting about. if you dont... your lucky, cos its gross.
So Kav went in the airport shop when we arrive in Cologne and we found a chimp and frog stuffed toy to give to Nick. When we got to the airport i attached them together with help from the hotels sewing kit, and viola... we had a chimp and frog for Nick.

So once we got towards meeting Nick a girl joined the back of the queue, who was really excited. She'd never met Nick before, and even though she was working at the arena that day she didnt really know if she could queue with us. We told her to, after all Nick wouldn't mind.
We approached Jason, who was asking us how we were. We told him our stress, to which he sympathised with us and said they had been having trouble also.
Sarah goes up to meet Nick and thats when Jason spots the frog and chimp in my hand. He starts laughing, tells me he "knows what they are" And pulls me closer, hugging me and telling me I'm his new favourite person. By this time Kav has now gone up to meet Nick and I'm just standing there laughing because i knew this shit was gonna be epic. Jason told me he wanted me to go last, to which i looked at the girl behind who had never met Nick and i shook my head.
I mean i coulda said yea, and the girl would of met Nick anyways. But it would of been rushed, and i knew if that were me I'd be gutted. So i said no, and mentioned that the girl had never met Nick before, before looking at Jason and Nick, who was now waiting for me to walk over. Both of them smiled at me, so i guess i got brownie points for that.
Nick claps as i walk over to him and i hold the chimp and frog up to him and he laughs and says its cool. Jason tells us to pose and as i put my arm down he tells me no, to put the chimp and frog in the pic... so i did. Nick then signs my cd book and some dude tries making me leave, but i ignore him (its what i do best) and turn to Nick and show him why our chimp and frog is special (because they are attached haha) and he laughed again. I held them out saying they were for him and he looked at me, smiled and said thank you, and then the douche guy took my arm to guide me out.
We were so freaking excited. Not only had we just met Nick and he liked our gift, but even though we were last in, we still got front row AND had the show to go.
Nick's show was AMAZING! He was full of energy, so happy and the crowd was ELECTRIC! He sang I'm Taking Off twice, which was the song he was making the video for. The first perfomance of it was awesome... but the second... out of this WORLD! The crowd was so alive by then. We were all singing at the top of our lungs, jumping up and down... all for Nick.
What was even cooler was Nick's girlfriend videoed us from the side... totally cool!
And the other cool thing that happened was Nick bringing out the chimp and frog! Although he did throw them out into the crowd. Not nice Carter!

Today was our tourist day. We woke up, watched Nick on TV before heading out to have breakfast. We found this cute restaurant that actually overlooks the cathedral. We had out breakfast/lunch before buying ice cream and going to be tourists.
After taking a dozen pictures outside the cathedral, Me Sarah and Charlotte went inside it and climbed the spiral staircase to the top. Let me tell you... it aint easy LOL! My legs hurt for DAYS afterwards, but the view was what made it worth it.

After that we had to head back to the airport. Charlotte had to head home :( Already we were losing numbers, and we were sad to see Charlotte leave. We came back to the hotel, had dinner and took another walk along the bridge.. taking all the views in in the dark. I really LOVE this city!

We did more sightseeing today, taking a walk along the river, randomly running into X Factor auditions. We ALMOST took part, but we didn't want to outshine the German participants ;)
After that we sat at this beautiful river side cafe and ate some amazing strudel and just took in the moment. I'll never forget Cologne. It's prettyness will always stay with me. I'm SO determind to go back.
Now I have a list of things that we noted on my iPhone when we were eating dinner and breakfast, and I've been told to write them down AS they are. Here goes it.
